Registration and Program Fees

2012: Program fee EUR 1175 includes tuition (a total of 120 full hours) in small groups (max. 8, av. 6), all study materials, Via Lingua CTEFL certificate, airport/train station transfer upon arrival (if required). Non-refundable registration fee of EUR 275 is included. The fee of the accredited College of Teachers Certificate (Associateship in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and 1-year membership of GBP 120 is to be paid on spot).

Accommodation Fees

2012: Placement fee EUR 100 Non-refundable placement fee for all accommodation bookings

Type 1 EUR 250 Flat share with Hungarian family, no meals

Type 2 EUR 250 Flat share with other Via Lingua students (max. 2), no meals

Type 3 EUR 420 Flat share with Hungarian family, half board (breakfast and dinner)

Hosts may be families or individuals.
Trainees stay in single rooms and share bathroom and kitchen facilities with hosts or fellow trainees.
The above accommodation fees are up to 30 nights.
For all types of accommodation, a housing deposit of EUR 100 is to be paid to cover against damages. It is refundable at the end of the stay if accommodation is left in proper condition.
For Accommodation Type 2 overheads (gas and electricity) are to be paid in addition.

Program Terms and Conditions

• Trainees on the Via Lingua TELF course at Via Lingua Budapest must be at least 21 years of age.

• Trainees must be either native speakers of English or non-native speakers with a proficient level of English.

• All applicants will be asked to write a 500-word essay on a teaching related topic (exact title to be given by the academic director to each applicant individually).

• Non-native speakers of English must be available for a 20 to 30- minute face-to-face or telephone (skype) interview.

• Trainees must also have a first degree (college or university degree).

• The deadline of application is one week before the beginning of the actual course. It is at the discretion of the course director to decide whether or not to accept late applications.

Program Cancellation Policies

• The registration fee plus sixty percent of the full program fee (altogether EUR 815) must be paid at least 10 days prior to arrival or the course organizer preserves the right to cancel the trainee’s registration. The rest of the course fee can be paid together with the registration fee or at the Via Lingua Budapest centre on the first day of the course.

• All program cancellations received in writing at least 10 business days prior to course commencement are eligible for a full monetary refund.

• The Registration fee is non-refundable if the course is cancelled later than 10 business days prior to course commencement but may be applied to future courses in the same calendar year.

• If cancellation is received less than 10 business days prior to course commencement, or if the trainee fails to arrive to the start date, tuition fee is not monetarily refundable but tuition credit may be applied. Course fee credit is valid for one calendar year.

• After classes begin, no monetary refunds will be made but tuition credit may be applied.

Accommodation Terms and Conditions

• The accommodation placement fee of EUR 100 must be paid at the same time with the course deposit.

• Accommodation fee is to be paid upon arrival at the Via Lingua centre. (If accommodation fee is paid in full at least 10 business days prior to arrival, the placement fee will be refunded.)

• Via Lingua Budapest is not responsible for personal belongings.

• Trainees arrive the Saturday or Sunday before the course begins and depart the Saturday or Sunday after the course finishes.

• Prices are subject to change due to availability.

Accommodation Cancellation Policies

• Accommodation cancellations must be received in writing 10 business days prior to arrival.

• If cancellation is received with 10 business days notice, the accommodation fee will be fully refunded with the exception of the non-refundable accommodation placement fee.

• If proper notice is not received or the trainee does not arrive till the first day of the course, the first two weeks of the accommodation fee in addition to the accommodation placement fee will not be refunded.

Holidays

The Via Lingua Budapest centre will be closed on the following holidays in 2012 (lessons will be made up for on Saturdays):

March 15 (Thursday – National Holiday), 9 April (Easter Monday), 1 May (Tuesday – Labor Day), 28 May (Monday – Whitsuntide), 20 August (Monday – National Holiday), 23 October (Tuesday – National Holiday), 1 November (Thursday – All Saints Day)
